Art and Soul is HERE!!!!!

I am so excited about Art and Soul, the new crafting show created by Close To My Heart!

Art and Soul airs on my website every other Tuesday. You can view the programs whenever it's convenient for you. Each episode is 15 – 20 minutes long. There will be a new episode every two weeks.
Art and Soul has been created to teach tips and techniques while showcasing Close To My Heart’s amazing products. Each episode will feature at least one project that is completed from beginning to end and you’ll be able to download printable instructions and recipes for the projects. You’ll also have a chance to buy the items featured if you choose at a discount of approximately 20%.
The first episode features the new memory keeper box and the lovely "Notebook" paper packet. This would make a great gift!

Never Forget...

I wanted to take a moment out of my day to remember those that lost their lives 7 years ago today. I've been listening to patriotic music and just reflecting on my feelings 7 years ago. Feelings of disbelief and horror. I work in downtown Denver and we were allowed to go home around 10:00 am when they started evacuating the taller skyscrapers. It was like rush hour that morning, I've never seen so much traffic on the roads. I sat in front of the TV, as I'm sure most everyone did that day, for hours still not able to believe what I was seeing. I will never forget.

My Mosaics

As promised, here are the pictures of the two mosaic projects I did at the YMCA camp this past weekend. I had never done a mosaic before so I think they turned out pretty good. The hardest part was trying to figure out what to do. I decided on the heart box to use at my Close to my Heart gatherings, maybe as a prize box, or as a "hat" to draw the winner of door prizes. I have no idea what I'm going to use the tray for, my daughter has asked if she could have it, not sure if I want her to have it just yet, it was a lot of work and I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor before handing it off to her. I still need to paint them, as you can see on the tray I got a little of the black grout on the edge. I figure when it's painted it'll look great. I encourage you to try something new, even something you're not sure about, I had fun and am already looking for the next mosaic project I can do.

See you soon

I've had Enough Nature

I spent the weekend at the YMCA camp in Estes Park, Colorado and I have to tell you, I'm not an out door person. I'd much rather be inside crafting or playing on the internet. We all tried our hand at archery it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and for my first time I did really well, we each got 3 arrows per "turn" and I hit the target all three times, one was very close to a bull's eye too. Everyone in the group was shocked when I told them this was the first time I'd ever shot a bow and arrow. Although my kids and I had fun doing the various activities, a scavenger hunt, miniature golf, walking around the camp area, and of course shopping. My daughter took a horseback ride, I've riden once and don't care for it so my son and I hung out while she was gone. I was sure ready to come home yesterday. While there I did manage to spend a couple hours crafting in their craft center. I tried my hand at mosaics which I'd never done before, I think they turned out well for the first try. I'll post pictures later. That's all I have for now. See you soon.

I took the Plunge!!!

OK, so I took the cue from my friend Miranda and decided to try blogging. I'm not sure what I want to accomplish with this blog other than I'd like a place that I can share my ideas and creations with the world or just rant.

I hope you check back often as I hope to update at least once a week to start, but given that I'm on the computer most nights it'll probably more than that.

See you soon
