Cards with Kate's Kitchen

Kate's Kitchen has to be my favorite Cricut Imagine cartridge. When I first got it I didn't think I would like it that much, but it has turned out to be a favorite. I just love the cute little characters on it. I'm usually more of a pink and pastel person, so for me to like the bright colors is very unusual.

I like how with these 2 cards just changing the background paper makes them look like 2 totally different cards.

Today's card is another I created using the Lori's Garden cartridge. With the Cricut Imagine images you can print and cut with a single layer, or cut out several layers to give your project added dimension

A week of Cricut Imagine Creations

This week I thought I'd share some things I made with my Cricut Imagine. I have to tell you I LOVE my Cricut Imagine. I even stayed home from work the day it launched on HSN in 2010, just so I could watch all the airings.

First up is a card I made using Lori's Garden. I love how the Imagine Art cartridges have papers and art pieces that co-ordinate perfectly. It makes putting a card together so easy.

I added some sparkles and tulle ribbon.

Cupcakes Anyone?

I need to give you a little background on today's post. About a year and a half ago, one of the girls I work with was throwing a baby shower for a friend and wanted something to put candy in to give as party favors. The shower theme was cupcakes and cherry blossoms. Well, I racked my brain trying to figure out something that would incorporate both. I had the idea of just a box with some cherry blossom cuts on it, but couldn't find the right cut I wanted on any Cricut cartridge.

I began searching online for box patterns and ran across a template from Hot off the Press for a cupcake box. I almost bought the template that night because it would have been perfect. I told the girl my idea and she loved it. Then she told me she would need 60 boxes, yes 60, six, zero. Well that template was out. I would have to cut by hand 60 cupcake boxes and I only had about 3 weeks to get them done.

Since I had opened my mouth and she was set on cupcakes, I couldn't change it, so back to the internet I went. I found another pattern on a digital site that could be printed and then cut out. It was so simple, I decided I could make my own using my Gypsy. I had my Gypsy for about 9 months and never really played with it. I watched a few you-tube videos on the basics and checked the Cricut message board for tips and suggestions and got to work. It took all weekend to get the design just right and several test cuts for the correct sizing, but in the end I had made an adorable cupcake box. I took the prototype to work and it was a go. I spent the next couple weeks cutting and glueing 60 cupcake boxes together.

I can't believe how well my first Gypsy project turned out. The boxes were the hit of the party too. I used Sweet Treats and George cartridges, all the paper is Close to my Heart, the ribbon is from Michael's.

Sexy Red Dress

This card was a special request from a guy at work for his wife. He wanted something fun yet sexy.

I used the Cricut cartridge Formal Occasion for the dress and shoes. The name was cut from George. The red paper is from DCWV Citrus pad. The Happy birthday and the black trim on the dress are stickers from Ecstasy Crafts.

Baby Layout

This layout was made for a friend's baby shower. A group of us got together and each made a layout for her. The book turned out really cute, with everyone's different styles and layouts.

I used the Close to my Heart book Imagine for this layout.

Another Word Book

I've got another word book to share today. This one is a wedding book I made for a lady at work to give her sister.

Paper is from DCWV Le Creme stack. I used various cartridges and my Gypsy to design it.

A Million Thanks

OK, so there's not a "million" cards in this post, but there are several thank you cards I made to sell at work. People at work know I make cards and are always coming to my office asking to buy a card because they forgot they needed one. I try to keep a good stash in my desk, but sometimes one person can't decide which one they want so they buy them all in case they need more.













I used miscellaneous supplies. Papers are Clsoe to my Heart, My Mind's Eye, and some I don't even remember when I got them.

The "thank you" stamps are all Close to my Heart.
